NOTES:
- I asked my sister to buy this item when she was assigned in Hong Kong for a work-related project in 2007. She bought this at the night market in Jordan in the Kowloon Peninsula.
- the item is designed to be a jewelry box to contain a single item of jewelry like an engagement ring or necklace. It is an exquisite way to present your jewelry gift. The jewelry box in itself is a gift item.
- I asked my sister to buy this as an addition to my collection of extraordinary jewelry boxes. It cost around 20 USD. Here in the Philippines, the price is tripled.
A Bit of Trivia:
- Did you know that the camel is the only beast of burden that can withstand the harsh conditions of the dessert? New Age Feng Shui practitioners regard the camel as one of the symbols of triumph over hardships and misfortunes.
- Did you know that Hong Kong is a former colony of England? England handed Hong Kong over back to China in 1997. Hong Kong built the Hong Kong Exhibition Center in Wan Chai to commemorate the historic event. The roof of the Exhibition Center is shaped like a bird flying to the Kowloon Peninsula to symbolize Hong Kong's return to China.
