NOTES:
  • I bought a pair of these gorgeous vases as addition to my collection of blue and white pottery.
  • The item is manufactured by Emperor Crafts, a company based in Hong Kong.  I bought the item from the sole distributor of Emperor Crafts here in the Philippines who happens to be related to the owner of the Hong Kong company (as I was told).  I was also told that the company produces products for the European market only.
  • This is one of my favorite pieces in my collection.  The porcelain and brass combination reminds me of the Victorian era.   From interior design magazines, these kind of vases with brass are high-end pieces that are only available from exclusive resellers and distributors.  The intricate details and quality of work will tell you how valuable the piece is.

A Bit of Trivia:
  • Did you know that some Chinese manufacturers of pottery in honor of the original makers, use the original hallmarks, stamps or logos of the original manufacturers in their modern day versions of the antiques?  This would really make it hard to authenticate pottery.  There are however, scientific techniques such as carbon dating or thermoluminescence test to verify authenticity of antiques.  Also, experts just by one look or touch can easily infer if a piece was an antique or not.
