A Bit of Trivia:
  • Did you know that the Sun Stone was unearthed in Mexico City in 1790?  The huge basaltic monolithic sculpture weighs more than 24 tons and measures more than 3 meters across.
  • Did you know that the Sun Stone that is also known as the Aztec Calendar and Stone of the Five Eras is made and dedicated to the Aztec's Sun God?  Many historians and archeologists debate on the significance of the stone.  Some say that it has astrological importance while some say it's astronomical.  Others say that it has geographical significance and still others say that it's purpose is related to time hence, the name "Aztec Calendar".  The glyphs in the stone is said to relate to months, days, and eras.
